India revisited

When you have a blog, the worst thing you can do is not update it regularly - at least twice a week - so I have severely reprimanded myself - it's been pretty hectic in my life/work/deadlines/writing/subbing/moving house - all quality problems I know, but if the blog is to succeed - I need to blog!
Thought I would drop in a few images from the trip to Southern India - it has gotten into my blood. After the trip I was exhausted - and it was because it was my first trip to that amazing country and the overwhelming aspects drained me. But now fighting fit again, it is itching me, and my mind keeps returning . . .

Outback rock star

Just a couple of images to tantalise! The dragon fly was taken by Melinda Pigott, who was our tour director - more like hostess with the mostest on the Bill Peach air cruising trip last week. Melinda took this beautiful image at Gantheume Point in Broome. We had a ocuple of days in Broome, sunny, blue skies and balmy nights. This is my choice for 'Picture of the Month'.
The other one is of me, the 'Rock Star' with the twilight coloured Uluru in the background. This was just before a group of us sat down to the stunning concept 'Sounds of Silence' dinner in the desert. Uluru behind me and Kata Tjuta in front of me - what a beautiful country we live in. After a tasty three course dinner an astrologer talked about the twinkling stars and planets overhead after we had dimmed the table lamps - an experience everyone should aspire to.
The other picture is a few of my travelling companions reading Get Up & Go magazine.
From left: Jim (Canada), Neil (Qld), Margaret (NSW),Maree (Qld), Gwen (NSW) and Mary Ann (Canada). This lot were just a few of a group of 28 fabulous travelling companions - way to go.

A very peachy journey

Been on the go on a Bill Peach air tour of distinction. Picked up the tour in Darwin, next stop flying in the comfy, darling Dash 8 to Kununurra and then we took off for a trip up the mighty Ord River. What a magnificent journey - freshwater crocs everywhere, hanging out on rocks enjoying the sun, Ospreys flying high above us . . .lunch in a secret spot on the bank with a little waterfall twinkling behind us. Capt Ken is moving us through the sky and doing figure 8's so we all get the view the magical Kimberley landscape - Bungle Bungles, Argyle dam, vast valleys, red rust colour of iron shining through . . .it's robust country. We flew over the edge of the coast today and spied Cockatoo island, a host of small islands and many dark shapes in the pristine sea below. Now in Broome at Cable beach resort - some days, are the best days of our lives - I'm having one today.
